Dear Students,

Welcome to SHML and to the World of Hotel Operations and Management,

We believe you might have given a careful thought about the meaning of hospitality business, which shines amongst the best performing  industries in the world. Hospitality implies interacting with people, communicating in different languages and travelling the world, thus combining the excitement of exploring different countries, their regions and cultures, for rewarding professional opportunities.

Although success may depend upon unpredictable variables, it may be wise to think carefully about what it takes to evolve toward hospitality success. When on the top of the hierarchy, one soon discovers that responsibilities include the pain of dealing with various complexities inherent to the hospitality industry. At that level one has to perform and deliver to the satisfaction of property owners, the operating brand, guests, employees, and the local community.

To claim hospitality technical competences it implies, among other things, the acquisition of knowledge and skills to deal with the core disciplines that characterize our industry, including Sales & Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Human Resources, Rooms Division and Food & Beverage.

SHML offers a boutique educational concept, implying the acquisition of competence and personalized attention to students within a commercially operated application hotel. With such intentions toward hospitality learning, students will soon understand the reasons simulating international hospitality standards of practice
